Isn't it Ironic?

Don't you think?

Not really Irony.

Unless, ofcourse, you find this sort of thing funny.

Well, pishaw, Smarty Pants:

Definition 2 in your link states that Irony is:

Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs

I think that fits, albeit roughly.

Yeah, and I hate the whole anonymous thing, I want to know who's saying what.

You know I could have been born with the name Anonymous. I thought you college types were against profiling, stereotyping, and violence. Sheesh.

Pishaw to you as well other smarty pants , actually definition two does not match as it's still incorrect usage. All can view the correct usage of ironic, http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=ironic .

BTW - I am a big fan of pishaw, thanks, it warmed the cockles of my heart.

Oh ian, you are super Internet tough, that's awesome. Almost as awesome as being Internet anonymous. I figured a hippy like you to be against anonymous throat punches. I guess it doesn't take much to sell out your virtue. You'll make it far in life.

Lizzle, you were the one hating, smugly posting an article about death during a baptism and calling it ironic? There's some hate there . . so do you "fucking hate" yourself?

Cheers.

BTW lizzle, there has been note in the past on your lack of umm . .shall we say, advanced cognitive function. You can go into settings and disable anonymous posting.

your friend,

Anonymous.

Wow, Anny.

I was just trying to be funny — apparently failing.

Didn't know that was a selling out of my virtue. I do apologize for not making that clearer, but really... you need to chill.

Everything is going to be OK. You don't have to get so excited. There is much more out there than people's comments on blogs to worry about.

But I would agree that irony is fitting in this context. Let me clear my throat:

ehr hrm

Being that baptism (for the most part) has become (though not always) a ritual that celebrates a child's birth and acceptance in the religion. In this case, this birth ritual (a good song by the way) became the direct cause of death.

This is a good example in my opinion of irony.

And to support your view of my hippistic tendencies. I wouldn't really pumch you or anyone else I know in the throat. Again, just trying to be funny as I presume Liz was.

But seriously, why be anonymous? Does someone who blogs here know you? If so, all the more reason to reveal who you are. Stand up. B proud. Shout it out loud. "I'm (insert name) and I'm proud!"
