Traveling?

Looks as though I have a couple oppurtunities for travel in the near future. I was eating Sunday dinner with Tony and his uncle when his uncle asked out of nowhere, "Would you like to take a long weekend at the end of November or early December to go to California?" He was saying that if he could find cheap tickets, he'd take us out to this little Victorian town in Northern California that would be right on the coast.
Yeah, take me! I've yet to visit California.

I've also asked Greg if I could come and stay with him in South Africa for a couple months. I feel this is something I can't pass up and I'm very excited about the prospect of staying in Africa and being able to do some volunteer work while there. Also, I'd love to play some soccer/futbol with the locals : ) .
I'm just hoping past experiences won't mar my chances of being able to go...

"Slippy"

I can feel my dreams of moving to Europe slipping slowly away. I'm dying to get over there and I thought school would be the best way for me to get there. But it seems I've screwed myself in the end. By going to MCTC, I am going for my A.A. degree and securing credits that are designed to transfer directly to the University of MN. That's cool, except that I've been telling people for the past two years that I DO NOT want to go to the U of MN. It's not that it's a bad school, definitely not, but I just dont' want to stay in Minnesota, in the midwest...in the US. But now I'm stuck. It'd be hard to get into a good psych school overseas and if I transfer elsewhere in the US (which is what I'd like to do) I'd have out of state fees again.

Blah.

On another note, I got to see the Science of Sleep for free at the Uptown Theatre...nice.

Next Year

Next year, when I am done with my schooling here, I plan to move overseas and attend an American University in Europe. I have found a website with some links to the websites of some American Universities. Since I am pretty new to all of this, I was wondering if anyone would be available to check these out and offer advice to me about anything to do with moving and studying in Europe.

Thanks!

Moved

I have spent all week moving into my place, hence the reason no one has really heard from me.

I'm tired, very tired.

I was only able to do my moving at night because I've been working. On top of that, I've been having class that starts at 9 am.

Blah...

But I'm moved in, and I'm loving it. I love the atmosphere and it really makes a difference in my overall happiness. Leeloo's happy; she runs around the house and makes the roommates fall in love with her all day.

Life is good right now.

Come have breakfast with me, there are so many places near me now!

Here

Though only surving with four hours of sleep, Tony and I have made it to New York City. We arrived at the JFK airport at 10 am Eastern time and took the subway to Manhattan, which was an hour long trip. We're staying in Harlem with one of his uncle's friends; the place is small and cozy and it feels weird walking around the neighborhood. I guess you could say I'm not used to being a minority.

So far all we've done today is gone to the grocery store. We went to this little Spanish grocery store where they were playing loud and danceable music which made me want to dance throughout the whole store. It was interesting checking out; the cashier, who was probably a year or two younger, was messing around with a cell phone and talking to a girl who looked to be her younger sister while not even paying attention to Tony and I.

It's weird. I feel like I'm in another country almost. But no, just another part of the US.

"Thanks"

Nice, just when I'm about to fly out to New York City, terroists decide they want to start blowing up planes again.

So now the airlines want you there a couple hours ahead of time. My flight is at 6:40 am....

New York City

Have I told anyone this?

I'm going to New York City next week. Tony and I had been wanting to take a trip since the end of the school year, and now we finally are. We're leaving at 6:40 am Wednesday morning, I talked my hobbit boy into taking us to the airport that early. : ) Tony's uncle knows someone who lives in Manhattan, so we have a place to stay. We're just going to walk around the city and just enjoy not having to work and just being able to hang out and relax. I'm really looking forward to it, it'll be nice to go to New York City with a friend and not family for once. I'll do all the things that I want to do.
We're coming back Sunday in the evening, and then I will begin school and start moving.

God, I'm fucking broke.

Also...I have updated my videos. I have some videos of Semisonic (don't even mock me, I loved them when I was in the 6th grade and so it was quite enjoyable to see them for free this summer at the Aquatenniel Block Party!) , B Girl B Revue (I will someday dance like these girls, seriously), and the Aquatenniel Fireworks finale.

And...some more pictures!

My Place

So I've found a place; it's at 24th and Harriet. Nice big duplex with four bedrooms on the upper floor and two cool roommates below.

Tony will be one of my roommates. This is something I wanted to stay away from, but we both REALLY liked the place. We've discussed the issues, we're hoping we can handle it.

School : (

School is starting back up again. As always in the latter months of summer, I start to feel the itch to go back and begin again. I must admit, I do enjoy school and knowing that I'm accomplishing something. It's just a matter of trying to keep that feeling the whole semester through.
For the past year, I've been taking it easy and have been going to school part-time. I hated my first year when I had to really watch what I spent and was asking my parents for money. Though I don't look forward to doing that again, I really feel the need to get this community college done with. I'd like to be done within the next year and I would like to be on my way to London in the fall. I need to do some more research...

I'm taking 12 credits this semester. I'll be taking a soccer class to get rid of my physical education credit, which should be quite enjoyable. For the first time in a few years I'll be taking a math class. I'm definitely dreading it.

Hello school, bye-bye Brian...?

Hobbit Talk

I know, it's been awhile. But, my roommates computer has been down and so I've been without internet.

For the latest news, I've met a guy. It's been quite the week I must say. His name is Brian, he works electronics at Target. He used to be a great soccer player in high school, and then tore his ACL. And as my friend Rachel says, "Soccer players are sexy." Heehee... Another good thing about him, he's hobbit-sized; he's only 5'6.
We've been hanging out pretty much non-stop for the past week; just getting to know each other. I keep asking myself why I like him and thinking about why he likes me. He's just not the sort I usually go for, and I would think the same of him for me. But yet I found myself crushing on him at Target, and then he was the one to ask me to hang out. We've had a lot of fun together, though I'm curious to see where it'll go. We talked about things yesterday and both of us aren't really interested in an actual relationship; both for various personal reasons. But yet, we're still dating.

Things are so weird. But in a good way.

Stealth

"He attacks from the back," Kettman said. "You never see it coming. He has six toes on every foot, which constitutes a very formidable weapon."
When the subject includes "stealth" and a "cat", it's just too funny.
I read this awhile back, but I still find it funny. Just imagine the scenario...

My First Time

For the first time in my life, a bird shit on me yesterday while I was eating outside at Barbettes. I was sitting with Tony when suddenly I felt something hit my shoulder and I looked over in horror and saw that it was bird shit. I just imagined that it was running down my back and shirt. I began to slap at Tony's arm frantically and told him, "Tony, a bird just shit on me!"
Fortunately, I had been wearing a shirt with a very open neckline and even though it hit me on the shoulder, it only hit skin and not the shirt.

Oooh, Snap!

This kid is doing at 12 what I've wanted to do my whole life...

OK?

No one comments, what's the point. Brother's deserted me, friends too...my life not good enough for you?!

Pictures.

Bike accident, hair cuts, Tony in his underwear and wearing a pore mask while playing guitar. C'mon, it's tempting!

What is Wrong with People?

Seriously, since when is protesting a funeral a good thing? Oh, let's do it for the Lord and alright, it's good.

Everyone needs to see this. Even if you do not agree with homosexuality, I don't understand how you can feel that this is justified in any way.

C'mon NE...

This wasn't quite so close this time, but just read the last paragraph.
