Diarrhea

I headed off to the travel clinic; Tony came along as he knew that I'm not good with needles. I only had to get two shots: Hepatitus A and Polio. I laid down to take my shots and they didn't hurt. Just a little prick. But when I sat up and sat down next to Tony, I began to feel a little sick to my stomach so I had to lay my head in his lap. Then I moved out to the lobby and thought I was fine, but then I began to feel really dizzy. Tony got me another chair for my feet and I ended up making myself a little "crib" to lay in. I laid there for about 10 minutes. Yeah...needles are great.

Along with the Polio and Hepatitus A vaccines, I also got some live oral medication for Typhoid Fever. I also have a perscription for Malaria and also one for severe diarrhea.

I guess my ass and I are pretty ready for South Africa.

Sleepless Halloween Antics

On Halloween night I headed out to First Ave with a couple of my roommates. First Ave always has a Halloween dance party and I was never able to go before for it was always 21+, but for whatever reason, it was 18+ this year. Dressed up as Alex from A Clockwork Orange, I met up with Ian while there, but as I did not get there until midnight, I did not see him for long. My roommates and I headed out to the dance floor and after a bit, they decided to go smoke. I remained on the dance floor; there was no way I was going to stand out in the cold and watch people smoke. I began to walk around the dance floor looking for someone to dance with when I happened upon a guy dressed as Steve Irwin with a sting ray stuck in this stomach and with the barb coming out of his back. I laughed in shock; I mean, I was really upset at hearing about his death, and then here was a guy dressed as him. So I started dancing with him, and almost immediately the guy says, "You work at Target don't you?"
"Yeah." I replied, thinking Fuck! I just feel stupid when I meet people who have seen me working. As a cashier, I have about 200+ people go through my lane a day and I just get into "Target mode" and say "Hi, how are you?", and yeah, I'm just a Target Robot. Through bit and pieces throughout the night, I found out from both Zack (the Steve Irwin guy) and his brother that for the past year that Zack has lived in the area, he's been going to Target, he's been going through my lane purposefully and has a little thing for me.

Seriously, how fucking random! I mean, this shit never happens? There's always someone that people have a crush on and you always kind of dream about that chance encounter, but it never happens. But no, it happened to Zack; I'm the Target girl he's got a crush on and I just happen to saunter up to him at First Ave and start dancing with him. God.

So I danced with Zack a lot, he was a lot of fun. He wasn't too serious about the dancing so it was a lot of fun to dance with him. I kept getting behind him and taking on the "man" role. There was another guy that I also danced with. He was walking all over the dance floor just by himself and was doing his own little dance; he wasn't too serious about it. At one point in my dancing, I just pointed at him and he came over and I kept dancing with him all throughout the night. He'd get behind me and place his hand under mine and start doing this little wave thing...and then he'd walk me around the dance floor and at one point said, "I think it's fun to run into people." His name was Ben, and he was a lot of fun to dance with and he later on told me that he liked how I danced.

God, it was so fun, I was just goofing off the whole night with Ben and Zack, who turned out to be good friends. I'd get sandwiched between them and then Emily (my roommate) would get a guy inbetween us and yeah...just A LOT of fun.

At the end of the night, I ended up going over to Zack's place to hang out. I found out that he's actually 27, though he only looks 18. He's a caricature artist and his stuff is really amazing. (Here's a link to his page where all of his drawings are up.) I hung out there until 7 am; we stayed up watching Conan and other various shows and just told funny stories from work and such. I ended up not going to bed that day; I had to wake Tony up at 7:45 and then I had class. I felt pretty miserable that day, but it was well worth it.
