A Finger
Hmm...I'm thinking that some perv's could find my title a bit dirty??
Anyways, it's not meant to be dirty in any sort of way.
I must say, I feel rather good as I just let out some anger. As a biker, motorists piss me off. It's 2 am and I was biking home from Tony's and was on the last stretch home on my street. I was nearing a stop light and was on the side of the street, where bikes ARE allowed to be and I heard a car coming up behind me. Again, I was at the side of the street...not swerving around or anything. I was being a good little biker, but this fuck bitch still decided to honk at me. And she did so while she was behind me, which made me jump a bit. That pissed me off. I headed on through the stop light while she waited and as I was pissed, I decided to do something that would feel good. I took my good ol' time and biked right in the middle of the road. I just waited for her to come up behind me...and she did, right before my house. She laid on the horn but I still kept up my snail pace, then turned around and flipped her off. Ooh, it felt good. Now, I realize that I didn't really do anything spectacular, but you must keep in mind that this is coming from someone who usually just stays quiet and doesn't do anything when angered.
A Number
Yesterday at Target, an amazing thing happened: I got a guys number. This guy came through my lane and he bought a couple of dvd's; one was of a show on Adult Swim - can't think of the title - and I don't remember the other.... He was wearing a backpack and I assumed he was biking so I asked, "You biking?" He said he was and I made the comment that I bike everywhere. He told of how he recently got into a car crash and had to bike everywhere. Nothing too spectacular happened, I just noticed that he kind of looked at me as he was leaving, as though he wanted to say something. But he left.
A little later on, I looked over towards the entrance and I noticed him coming back in. I had a quick thought of him coming back and giving me his number, for it's something you always see in movies and such, but it has never actually happened to me. Out of the corner of my eye though, I saw him round the corner and come over to the lanes, and he walked straight to mine. He handed me a little blue scrap of paper. "My name's Brock, call me if you want to bike and get some coffee sometime."
Heehee, I've never had something like that happen to me before; never before has a guy just thrown his number at me like that. It's so flattering!
And then tomorrow, or today rather, I'm meeting up with a guy from okcupid.com.
Too bad I don't really want to date anyone. Damn it, guys always go for me when I'm not looking to date.

Biking It
As I kept saying I was going to do, I bought a new bike the other day. Tony and I headed into Penn Cycle where he got his for they had really good priced bikes and Nick, the guy who helped Tony find a bike, was super helpful and nice. I ended up with a 15" Giant Cypress. Ahh, I love having a bike with gears and brakes that actually work.
Biking home from Target today was "joyous." It was just raining non-stop. I had stopped by rainbow to look for soybeans and when I came out, it was just pouring. Iwaited for like a half-hour in the little area where they keep carts as I waited for the rain to stop. It was pretty entertaining to watch people sprint from the store to their cars, it was like they were on a battle-field or something. There was this one chick who was wearing a really short skirt who went running down the parking lot with her shopping cart. The wind was blowing up the back of her skirt and it's safe to say she was probably wearing a g-string. It was funny. If I had a penis, I might think it something other than funny.
Now...to speak of something related...anyone think it weird that while on the trip to Seattle with Erik I kept finding myself just wanting to say in front of him, "You know Erik, I'm a lesbian." Not that I am...I definitely like guys, but I just so want to say that to him sometimes with some of the shit he says.
I seriously hope Jacob turns out gay. I'm not even being remotely sarcastic. He's afraid of bugs and always crosses his legs.
Seriously, it'll do some good for the family.

How Many Kids You Had?
Wow...I can't believe what just happened. I walked over to Sentyrz, the grocery store right by my place, and there was this older black guy in the parking lot. As I walked by, he smiled at me and asked me to come talk to him. I just laughed and ignored him. When I left the store, he was still outside and began to walk along with me. "Damn, you walk fast girl, how old are you?" I told him I was 19 and then he introduced himself to me and shook my hand. "Can I get your number Liz?"
"Nah, I got a bf." I lied, knowing that if I said I was single I'd just never be able to get him away from me. So I stop in front of my house and this guy is just looking me up and down. "Liz, you got such a tight body...I've never seen such a body on a white girl."
I just giggled through all of this, for I have heard similar comments from Tony.
"You ever dated a black guy?" He asked.
"No." I responded.
"It's a whole 'nother experience, it's like adventureland."
He also asked me how many kids I had. It's not like he asked if I have had kids at all, he just assumed I had had some. I told him, "I'm only 19, I haven't had any."
"Now Liz, I just gotta be up front with you, you got some great titties. Turn around and let me see that ass, you like wearing thongs?"
I began to think it was getting a bit out of hand and so I told him I had to go. As I turned and walked he yelled out at me, "Where'd you get that million dolla' walk?"
As I walked up the stairs he called out, "Hey come back, I think I came on a bit strong."

Nicolet Island Venturings
The other night, Tony showed me a part of Minneapolis that I had not realized was there; a little island in the Mississippi called Nicolet Island. The island is very close to where I live and whenever I bike into downtown, I always pass over it. I just never noticed it was an island I was passing over. We biked down to St. Anthony Main late the other night and rode along the cobblestone streets for a bit. We got onto the heritage trail and took a little stroll on the bridge; we stopped to gaze at the view of the lighted city and looked down at the Mississippi passing below us. After this, Tony led me down to the bridge that crosses over to Nicolet Island and we biked around this little hotel restaurant called Nicolet Island Inn. He talked of how he had eaten there in an earlier visit to the city and said, "We should have breakfast there sometime." We biked along the winding trail that led around the perimeter of the island and remarked on the old Victorian houses in the area. On the way home as we were passing over this little bridge, a train came and went under the bridge. We climbed over the side of the bridge and stood on this little edge right over the passing train. Tony talked of how we HAVE to someday jump onto a slow-moving train and ride it for awhile.
We'll see how that goes.
Today will be my fifth day in a row working at Target. I know, boo-fucking-hoo. Some people work 7 days a week and some people work like 30 hour shifts...like Greg. : ) I shouldn't complain, but I will.
Leeloo lost her collar while she was home. She figured out how to open to the sliding screen doors at my dad's place and escaped one night, but she ended up spending the night in a tree as one of the cats scared her up there. She was not fixed while she was home; I'll be getting her shots and either I'll find a REALLY cheap place up here to get her spayed, or I'll have it done next time I go to Iowa.
The transmission in my Taurus is shot. It's in Iowa right now awaiting a new one and I've got the blazer. Blah. Yes people, hate me because I'm spoiled. I've never had it rough. As I told Tony, you're going to hate me when you come home with me and see how much I've got.
I'm buying a new bike. Mom's bike is really taking a crap on me and so Tony and I headed into Penn Cycle yesterday to look for a bike. The bike that I wanted is 15" tall and is too high for me, so they have one coming in on Friday that they're going to have me look at. Joy!
We'll see how that goes.

Sittin' on The Dock of a Lake
I got back to Iowa on Thursday and stayed home for a few days. I met back up with Jay, and I must say that that was quite the experience. We hung out Saturday afternoon and evening and were VERY open about what's been going on with us lately, especially in terms of our dating lives and whatnot. So, I found out that he's seeing some girl who lives and bartends in Des Moines, he shaves his armpits now, he works as an exotic dancer in a Des Moines club, and he HAS to have his white shirts be WHITE or he won't wear them.
I went to the Rose Festival parade on Saturday; every year State Center has their town celebration called Rose Festival. It's the time when all the carny's rush over to State Center to add a little skank to the town. So, I went to the parade and met up with Jay and also with my mom and Erik. I REALLY wanted some candy but as I'm older, I wasn't really getting candy thrown at me, so I would sit there and clap my hands and go "candy candy!", to all of the passing floats, cars, tractors, etc... People started to finally throw candy in my direction but I had some competition; I had my nephew Jacob on the left and a group of little kids on the right and I was literally out there on my hands and knees - I do not joke - as I grabbed candy.
I am not ashamed.
I came back up to the cities on Saturday. As I was unpacking, I heard the back door open and shut and thought that it was Emily. I looked up as I heard the approaching footsteps, and I saw that it was actually Tony standing there with a big smile on his face. Ah, this rush of just pure happiness just ran through my body, I've never had anything like it. He walked into my room and I stood up and we just hugged for the longest time. Needless to say, Tony and I spent our evening together. A lot of it was spent at my house, but later on we headed into Uptown and sat out upon the dock on Lake Calhoun. That night Tony and I had a big talk and have decided to not move in with one another. We both talked of how just everyone has warned against it and we discussed our own worries with the situation. We just both feel that living with one another would create pressures and stress that could hurt our friendship. And we're both very interested in one another, but we aren't taking that step to date yet...so we feel it better to not have it so that we're always coming home to one another.
So my life has started up again. I'm back at Target for 5 days in a row. Suck. I've been doing some cleaning and tonight I'll be making some lasagna for Tony; I must thank Greg for giving me the idea of how to make a really good lasagna. Tony and I are hanging out again like usual, though we haven't done as much biking yet.
But...I have a feeling that will change.

Lovely Seattle
I took a break from hanging out with Erik and Sue and the two boys today. A much needed break. Greg worked a 30-hour shift and wasn't to get home until around noon. Erik and Sue left around 10 or so and took the boys down to the aquarium and to an I-Max theatre. I didn't feel like spending money on such things, so I waited for Greg to get home. We had lunch at Pho Cyclo and I had Pho with cow tendon and stomach in it. Yummy! Then we headed over to China Town and I picked up some really weird folder things that have weird Japanese cartoons on the covers. One is of this cartoon grocery store and in every piece of fruit, in the toilet paper, and in all the food are these little kittens. A bit creepy, but funny. I also bought a couple of really cool plates that were made in Japan. Just something to add onto my collection of "grown-up" stuff.
Tomorrow it looks like we will be going kayaking which I'm excited about. It's one of the main things that I wanted to do while here.
Sunday we will be leaving, which sucks ass. But alas, I am not the driver, I was only along for the ride.

Minneapolis to Seattle, And All Inbetween
So I won't be talking about EVERYTHING...but I'll try to get in what I feel is "important." Now....important stuff? Well, I guess there isn't really anything too important that happened.
Last Thursday I spent my day with Tony; we just biked back and forth between NE and Uptown, ate lunch at Punch, looked at an expensive bike for Tony, and rode along The Green Way. In the evening, Tony and I laid out on this dock on Lake Calhoun and watched as the sky darkened above us. Heehee, while on the dock I was getting a bit chilly and I had pulled my knees up to my chest and had my arms wrapped around my legs. Out of nowhere, Tony grabbed me, pushing his hands against my arms so that I couldn't free myself and he pushed me onto my back and started to roll me back and forth on the dock. He was just cracking up as he did so, and I was laughing as I yelled at him to stop. And then Tony started to slap me in the face, but it became too much for him and he finally let me go, and we just laid on the dock and laughed for minutes. Heehee, that ass.
Friday morning I got up and said my good-byes to Tony and headed home and that night around 6, I met up with my brother Erik, his wife Sue and my two nephews Jacob (7) and Nicholas (17 months) and we headed out for Wall, South Dakota. Since we had the two "young 'uns" with us, the plan was to see the sights during the day and then drive at night. This accounted for not ever getting to the motel until 2 am, while I desperately tried to seek sleep while I sat inbetween the two boys. While do I always get the shaft? On my right I had Jacob who always asked me to play "go fish" with him. I like keeping to myself anyways in cars, but when I did play with him, it turned into a game where I'd win off the first hand for he never shuffled the cards. And then I had Nicholas on my left who just got fussier and fussier as the trip went on, and I'd have him screaming in my ear at 1 am. There were so many times that I just felt like running up a tree and shaking it with all my might.
It's not just the boys who were annoying, I found that Sue is a bit unlikable. When she's around family, or at least my family, she's all smiles and corny jokes. Fake. When she's in the car, it's a different story. She gets stressed out easily and is strict with Jacob. She rolls her eyes a lot and just never seems to really be enjoying herself. It's annoying.
On Tuesday, we finally got into Seattle. Thank God. It feels good to be out of the car and in the lovely city of Seattle. Last year when I was out here, I was really torn between wanting to move to Minneapolis and wanting to move out to Seattle. But I chose Minneapolis (obviously). And hey, if I hadn't, then I wouldn't have met Tony. But there is still so much in Seattle that I see that I like. It's so big and I love the way that the city is all cut off and displaced by the lakes and ocean, and I love the way the houses on the hills look above the ocean and lakes. I enjoy the way the streets curve and slant severely.
It's just a nice place.

*Update*
I just got back from taking an hour walk. I was wearing shorts and a tank top and I was walking by this tobacco store where two guys were standing outside by the sidewalk at a pay phone. One of the older guys just started beaming when he saw me walking by. He said "hello" to me and I replied with a "hello." He then asked, "How are you doing."
"Good." I said.
"You look good today." He said next.
Jesus Christ.
And then earlier, I had stopped to cross the street in the middle of a block and this guy in a car that had no stop signs just stopped and waved for me to cross.
Worn Out
I've been active too much. On Sunday, I jogged 40 minutes in the morning, biked to Target (15 minutes) and just before I got there, the tube in my front tire popped. So...I had to walk home from Target, which took 45 minutes. Heh, I was having such an awful time. I've never changed a tire before and had only seen it done once and I was just pissed off at what had happened. On the way home, the only happiness I experienced was when I purposely ran over an ant with my flat front wheel and killed it. Also on the way home, I stubbed my toe...and it bled. Changing my tire took about 45 minutes; between calling my friend Jay to get the jist of how to do it, to running up and down the stairs to get tools, and to just plain figuring out how to do it. But in the end, it was done successfully. Immediately after that I got on my bike and biked from Northeast into Uptown (SW), about 3-4 miles (?) and met up with Tony on his lunch break at Lunds. Then I biked back home. Sat around for a few hours, and then biked back into Uptown at 11 when Tony got off of work. We headed to his place real quick, and then came back to mine. Yesterday I biked to Target and back with no tube popping. Then I biked into Uptown after I got off work and Tony and I biked to Northeast to get coffee and then biked back to Uptown for supper at Old Chicago, and then I biked back home by myself for the night. My bodies exhausted; I laugh at the idea of going for my daily jog.
Hi!
I was walking to the store right by my house this morning to pick up some orange juice. I'm walking across the parking lot when I hear a male voice call out from a short distance, "Hello!" I look to my left and I see these three older men sitting outside the store, most probably workers, and they're all waving at me. So I waved back. But hey, it's pretty funny how they were just all waving at me.
Leeloo Likes Big Black Cats
My cat Leeloo is in heat. Well, she was for the past couple o' days, and it was VERY annoying. She just kept meowing and making all weird sorts of noises as she rolled around on the ground. She'd stick her ass in the air, inviting anyone in, as her hind paws danced and her tail shook. The other morning when Tony and I had breakfast, we sat out on the stairs. Whenever I leave the house, Leeloo usually jumps up in the kitchen windown to watch me go and that morning I said, "She'll probably jump up there and stick her ass at it." Within a few moments, Leeloo jumped up into the window and displayed her ass for us. That's when she got shut in the bathroom.
